Arts|Science Initiative Urban Observatory Program Final Presentation

Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E 60th St, Room 401, University of Chicago

For six intensive weeks, local high school students have been closely studying the Woodlawn neighborhood. What emerged were several creative narratives and stunning visuals that captures the spirit of Woodlawn residents. Students learned both visual arts and scientific methods to understand the built environment, human interaction, and environmental health. Working with architects, visual artists, ethnographers, and computer programmers, students interviewed residents, created portraits of people and their neighborhood, developed asset maps, studied air quality, and wrote a daily blog of observations. Come hear the students present their insightful observations!

The Urban Observatory is presented in partnership with the Arts|Science Initiative and Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.
