Smart Policies for a Changing Climate

Under the Paris climate agreement, the United States and many other nations are committed to ambitious reductions in carbon emissions. Achieving these reductions will mitigate the negative impacts of climate change, but will not avert them. Consequently, it is necessary to find innovative approaches to reducing our carbon footprint while simultaneously preparing for the serious problems that climate change is already unleashing.

On December 6, The Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution and Energy Policy Institute at University of Chicago (EPIC) will co-host a forum exploring the best approaches for mitigating and adapting to climate change.
