The Illinois Institute of Technology will be hosting the annual 2016 Spring Research Conference, which is sponsored by the American Statistical Association (ASA) Section on Physical and Engineering Sciences (SPES) and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). In 2016, the conference will be hosted by Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. The conference has been in existence since 1994 and recent conferences have been hosted by the Procter & Gamble Company at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati, OH (2015), the University of Washington (2014), UCLA (2013), and Harvard (2012).
The purpose of SRC is to promote research in statistical methods that address problems in industry and technology and to stimulate interactions among statisticians, researchers in the application areas, and industrial practitioners.
The conference will consist of keynote speakers, invited and contributed sessions and plenty of time for networking and collaboration. There are also scholarships available for students and those starting their careers.
The Center of Robust Decision-Making on Climate and Energy Policy's (RDCEP) Hailiang Du will be presenting “Address Chaotic Likelihoods via Pseudo-orbit Data Assimilation Importance Sampler."
