Robert is a sixth year PhD student in environmental history at the University of Chicago. His research explores historical energy use in the United States, especially its effects on industrialization, labor, and society. He received his BA in History and Music from Amherst College in 2012

Bio: I came from Qinhuangdao, China, which is a seaside city quite near to Beijing. I got my bachelors' degree in Atmospheric Science at Peking University. I was admitted as PhD student at University of Chicago in 2018.

Shambhavi has a bachelor's degree from BITS Pilani in India in Computer Science and masters in Economics. She is currently pursuing her masters in Computational Analysis and Public Policy. Her current research focuses on mapping the Energy Inventory of the USA. Her research interest is in use of predictive analytics and big data in climate change.
Jim Franke graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a degree in mechanical engineering. After working in industry as an energy engineer for 5 years, he joined the PhD program in Geophysical Science at the University of Chicago in 2017. He is currently studying climate change impacts on human populations.

Kevin has a BA in Physics and Public Policy from the University Chicago and a Master's in China Studies at Peking University, where he researched the effect of Chinese fiscal structures on urban expansion. His research focuses on analyzing climate model output, projected changes in climate variability, and the impact of climate variability on society. In his spare time, he co-runs an interdisciplinary meet-up group designed to connect young natural and social scientists researching climate and energy matters and blogs about urban policy.

C2O is designed to serve a broad audience including such groups as undergraduate and graduate students conducting research for a thesis, journalists, and staff members for policymakers.
